i know i said i'm done with this thread, but i just couldn't leave this one alone.

you mean to tell me that "god" put you through trials and tribulations for a dolphin? what exactly do dolphins have to do with a religious discussion?

have you read what I've been writing? or just quoting what you feel is where I've slipped up?

I know I'm not perfect. I've never professed to it. But to say there's no god? I know I was there, I know other people were there, but its not the best way of thought to live you're whole life.

dammit, I'm not just a christian. I'm not just talking about christianity, or Budism, or any of that shit.

I'm talking about it all.... and The one thing we should all agree on is there's something bigger than us. There's something we all comrise of, and we all look up to. There's something each and every one of us are a part of. And that's God.

I would probably say the lights go out and youre through... I'm certainly not firm on that though.

I've had this fascination ever since I was a child about the water cylce, water being the bringer of life to this rock. I think sybolically, I want to become water when I die. Wether or not my 'soul' is there to see it. There's this beautiful mountain stream up in this park along the continental divide (god, I'm so lucky to live here). You drive like a half hour up this nasty rugged dirt road, you hike through these mountain glades and forests, through feilds of wildflowers, past waterfalls and over rocks, and you come to this stream-well, kinda like a little waterfall/stream thingy, the word "cascade" comes to mind. That is my spot. I feel a deep connection in my soul with that one place. When I die, I want to be cremated, and I want my family to take my ashes all the way up to that place, and dump them in the stream. I don't want my children and grandchildren to come to some packed, putrid depressing cemetary when they feel the need to think of me... I want them to come see something beautiful... I want them to revel in the glory of creation, and maybe they'll go home thinking of death as something beautiful, and not ugly. When they're too old or decrepid, or if they move to somewhere far away, they can visit any stream, any spring, any beatiful pond, lake or ocean and remember me there. They can look up to the clouds and remember me there. I wan't the tiny particles of my ashes to float down the stream, into the arkansas river, down to the gulf of mexico. I want them to get whipped up in hurricanes, I want them to float lazily through the air. Thats what I want.

Sorry, a little OT. i guess this is the "on-topic" forum.

hehe, this belongs in the other thread

I say, you live your life to the fullest, help people as much as you can, do whats right for your closest loved ones and random strangers, not for frear of a wrathful god, not for hope of eternal bliss, not for a general sense of Christian/Muslim/Jweish/Budhist/Hindu generocity. I say do it because its right. Because it feels right. I know youre hung up on this god thing, and I can appreciate that. But I think youre closing yourself off to a large number of people here. You can be spiritual and despise the concept of god. You can think theres no force greater than the pressure in your bladder and still be spiritual, still have a 'soul,' still know whats right. Believe in god or not... God is not essential.

...and you know where I'm coming from, spiritually.

Even if there's no reincarnation or afterlife on a spirtual level.. what you described is deffinatly a form of both. Our bodies SHOULD return to the earth. Most organic life forms decompose, returning to the earth to give life to that which comes after them. Circle of life. So even if there is nothing spirtually after we die... we always live on, in some sense.

Also.. history, to me, is a form of reincarnation, even... to a sense.. eternal life. (Until man's time as we know it now, runs out.) Think of all we learn from ancient history. Hundreds of civilizations that once roamed this earth live on because of the artwork, artifacts, buildings, writings, tombs, bodies they leave behind.

Actually, since you asked, I don't really read everything you have to say since you are long winded and abrasive. But that one point stuck out and I skimmed the stuff you said before and realized the glaring hypocrisy in which seemingly embrace. You speak of trials and tribulations and purpose, I think the word you are looking for is purpose, and then deny any religious affiliation, humility or forgiveness. Do you, or do you not believe in a higher power?
And another thing, where were you and whats not the best way to live life? You seem to be suffering from a vague form of retorting that leaves the opposing party more confused than anything.

intolerant to your idea's, more like.

still, I've been in a bitchy mood lately. Doesn't help that I haven't seen the other half in a couple months..... Not to mention I'm still trying to fordge my ideals. So yeah, I'm just as human as any of us, never denied that. People go through bitchy phases....

oh, and have fun by yourself.

tell me something I don't know. Still, no use in replying if you don't read it all.

1) I'm human
2) human's are hypocrites

congratulations, you found flaw within me.

You speak of trials and tribulations
we all go through them.

and purpose, I think the word you are looking for is purpose,
wow, thanks, captain redundant.

and then deny any religious affiliation, humility or forgiveness.
when did I do that?

Do you, or do you not believe in a higher power?
clearly I do. Why don't you re-read my posts.
