Default Too many stupid people

Friend of mine who has a Vette asked me if I wanted to go to a movie with him and some other people he knew. So we get to Blockbuster and the other people show up. It was a couple driving a Ford Focus and they ask "Is it really essential to get our car serviced regularly." I was like :wtf: even a kid knows better. So my friend, whose knowledge of cars is so great that he fried the tranny on his Vette (he has a lot of clutch foot, shifts into first without stopping, doesn't shift right, often grinds gears, etc) says change the grade of gas. I went :wtf: again because changing the grade of gas isn't gonna do much so I asked them what the symptoms were. They said "Car splutters and doesn't want to go." I told them to get the plugs cleaned and check the plug gap since fouled plugs will cause a car to act up. Their next question was... "What are spark plugs." At that point I felt like asking the guy if he knew that his car had an engine or was it pedal powered.

People amaze me with their intelligence!

Yep... plugs on both the Hyundai and Accord were fouled and all it took was some carb cleaner and paper towels to clean it.

I have a story... a story that makes me want to hunt down the GM manager.

My uncle who is almost 78 after owning Civics, Integras, etc decided to buy a 2001 Monte Carlo SS back in 2001. Recently his car acted up and he took it to the dealership, they diagnosed that the catalytic converter was shot and told him it would be a 3 day job to replace it. Total cost was $1200 to get it replaced. He then took it to a mechanic we know and the guy asked him "Are you sure they changed it because these bolts have never been taken off." My uncle can't do a damn thing because its GM's word against a local mechanic. I recommended he take it to a friend of ours who repairs cars and see if he says the same thing. He told me he was gonna sell this car and buy a Accord because he was sick of domestics.
