I'm glad I changed my cell number, my friend's psycho ex somehow got my last cell number.. would leave "interesting" VM's.. I was one step short of getting a R/O on her.. :eek3:

ig uess there would be an option of keeping your number or giving it back to the service provider.

but this doesn't just apply to cell phone numbers but also landlines. so in a few years area code will mean little...


which means you might be calling someone long distance without knowing it.

it would be retarded for landlines. its not like people move every year. it makes more sense for cell phone users because contracts are usually due in a year. and home phone service is pretty much perfected, no dropped calls or bad reception at all.

cell phones is true.

i didn't hear about anything for landlines when moving, only when changing providers. moving still requires a new phone #, unless you are moving within the exchange area. changing home providers allows you to keep your number. we changed to comcast digital phone service as a package deal with the cable & high speed internet, and kept our original phone #.

yes but people were saying you could move across the country and have the same number, which you can't with landlines...only cell phones.
