yea but when u get into a fight how is wrestiling gonna help you in a fight? u can try to take a guy down but do u know what to do once your on the ground? some one that knows ju jitsu or other ground fighting does. i know how to fight and if your gonan get in a fight at school with some random normal white guy then learn how to ground found otherwise u ebtter learn how to fight standing up bc more then 50% of the fights are not 1 on 1 they are someone out numbered. Oh another thing if ever go to places with bad crowds i advise you all to learn how to use a knife and carry a good one with you always better to be preparred

While I agree with you that most fights aren't 1 on 1, carry a knife? And I actually do know how to use a knife, but that won't be any reason for me to carry one ever.. I tend NOT to put myself in those situations, as I only look at fighting as a last resort. And as I'm sure you know, you get into a fight on the street, there are no rules.. therefore, the whole boxing type scenario won't necessarily present itself, you're not going to knock some dude down and wait for him to get up..

Dubster99 has actually seen me get into a confrontation before, where some guys were picking a fight with his roomate at the time and trying to get up in my face as well, then when the guy swung at me, made contact, I locked his ass up in a hold, he could not do anything at all.. I basically loss my tempter and started to rotate to slam him on the ground, but snapped out of it when I saw that the roomate did not want to fight (Marine on Active Duty = deep shit), so I let go at the last moment. And trust me, if I had slammed him into the ground, that would have probably ended the fight. :dunno:

I'm average height, but 245lbs, sure I can get into fights and beat someone up, but I think it's foolish to look at fighting as a first resort. Most fights are started over dumb ass egos.

You obviously don't know much about wrestling do you? Most of the drunk bastards that are in fights don't know jack shit about how to fight..they just flail around.

And carrying a knife? That's just weak

in a street fight, grappling > punching/kicking...unless you know Tae Kwon Do or some shit.

BTW...gun > knife. h:

using a weapon in a fight = :ghey: unless you're grossly outnumbered or have one pulled on you first.

who said anything about me going for legs?
anyhow, this thread wasn't to spark a pissing contest, I've done martial arts, grappling, and my dad practiced martial arts as well (taught me a lot of stuff I shouldn't know) but there's always someone who can kick your butt, one thing I've learned is to never underestimate anyone, because that becomes thier advantage then.
