Oh another thing if ever go to places with bad crowds i advise you all to learn how to use a knife and carry a good one with you always better to be preparred
While I agree with you that most fights aren't 1 on 1, carry a knife? And I actually do know how to use a knife, but that won't be any reason for me to carry one ever.. I tend NOT to put myself in those situations, as I only look at fighting as a last resort. And as I'm sure you know, you get into a fight on the street, there are no rules.. therefore, the whole boxing type scenario won't necessarily present itself, you're not going to knock some dude down and wait for him to get up..
Dubster99 has actually seen me get into a confrontation before, where some guys were picking a fight with his roomate at the time and trying to get up in my face as well, then when the guy swung at me, made contact, I locked his ass up in a hold, he could not do anything at all.. I basically loss my tempter and started to rotate to slam him on the ground, but snapped out of it when I saw that the roomate did not want to fight (Marine on Active Duty = deep shit), so I let go at the last moment. And trust me, if I had slammed him into the ground, that would have probably ended the fight. :dunno:
I'm average height, but 245lbs, sure I can get into fights and beat someone up, but I think it's foolish to look at fighting as a first resort. Most fights are started over dumb ass egos.
