I forget, did you / will you be doing motor work on the classic Mini?

I somehow recall seeing a nice T3 turbo kit a long while back.

Just a thought. :rick:

engine work will depends on how many I get :rick:

they are cheaper than the new MINIs but they aren't that cheap

but I would think a T3 would be wayyyyyyy tooooo big for a 1275cc engine :rick:

dual exhaust is standard as well but this one is not as restricted. same with the supercharger, this one has higher flow/psi
and i believe the head is bored for more flow capacity

and new ecu programming to take advantage of the increased flow

There's a few more things but those are the big ones.

hehehehe :whipped:

it is expensive for only 40hp or so ~4K for the kit plus installation.

other aftermarket tuners have shown they can get similar gains for about half the price.

however, the JCW kit has so much more potential with the better flowing s/c and the new heads that I think it's worth the money...

too bad I don't have the money to get the car

Hmmm. I see.

I'd think so. Labor is expensive; it sounded like a lot of work goes into the cars prior to sale, since they essentially are built to order.

Again, I agree. Unless one was dealing with a really small exhaust turbine....a standard T3 or TDOH-16 would be one laggy mofo.

Granted, it's been nearly eight years since I saw the ad in a Brit classic car mag. In reality, a better turbo is probably a weed-whacker K03 or somesuch.

Still, it'd be interesting. :rick:
