I think people can learn their lesson and feel remorseful for their crime... Don't you ever feel bad about doing something wrong?

I don't know, I wrote that guy a letter and put it in the mailbox, we'll see what transpires.

Have you ever given real thought to WHY these people are in prison? You are obviously either seriously naive or seriously deluded.

I feel bad when I say something mean to someone I love. I feel bad when I tell a white lie. I certainly don't know what it would feel like after murdering someone, or raping someone, or stealing huge amounts of money.

Unless the prisoner in question is mentally ill, they knew full well what they were doing when they did it. Do you honestly think someone who is capable of so much evil is worth becoming friends with? Think about the victims of the crimes committed. Does anyone think of becoming THEIR pen pal? Does anyone write to them and tell them how sorry they are for the position they're in? It disgusts me that criminals get all the attention, and yes, even glory, while the victims are left forgotten.

Why don't you spend your time doing something useful, instead of stroking the ego of some worthless fuck taking up space?

Lifetime prisoners are a waste of good tax money.
Criminals don't deserve penpals, but that comment was highly uncalled for. Maybe you would get banned less if you stopped being an asshole.

well, I am a victim. My ex was murdered, and although I feel for the families, I think its more of a "getting into the mind" thing. I guess i'm curious about what I can't understand, and what I don't understand is "why"

and I would become a victim's penpal. Find me a site, I'll write.

im going to back him up, they are a waste of money, and a waste of resources. Better that they are forgotten than given a chance for parole.

How would you feel if you found out that your prisoner pen pal had murdered your ex? Would you still want to be friendly with him/her? Would you still want to press on to find out "WHY"?

Why not spend some time with someone who deserves your attention, like volunteering at a hospital, or an animal shelter? It's much healthier to focus your energy on lives that are still full of promise, and lives that will enrich yours.

or how about writing people at retirement homes. theyre essentially prisoners but haven't committed crimes. theyre also more interesting. most importantly you can tell them where you live and have no chance of retribution cuz theyre old...if they attack you you can just push em down a flight of stairs... problem solved.

not so when involved with a 200 lb ax murderer who escapes and wants to sleep on your couch.
