I was actually trying to make this a serious thread

I found some one that is serving a life sentence... makes me feel more comfortable.. he has a death sentence and life.. although, when I read his online ad, He seemed so intelligent, like he just wasted his life because of stupidity. I think I am going to write him.

what are your opinions? Would you seriously write a prisoner?

I wouldn't. People in prison have done wrongs toward society and are in prison to be punished. IMO, punishment should include no television, internet access, libraries, or the opportunity to make friends through pen pals. It really pisses me off that prisoners can study for and recieve college degrees while in prison for FREE! While the rest of us, who don't kill people or do other horrible things, often don't get the opportunity because it costs so damn much!! :rant:

Anyway, I guess the short answer is no, I wouldn't write to a prisoner.
