nope. I'm pretty sure OE 6 is the same for '98 and XP. Are you at the 98 computer now?

Oh yeah, the store folder will be in a different location when comparing '98 and XP

Outlook has it's store location in XP Pro here:

C:\Documents and Settings\insert username here\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{insert long ass string here}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\

In Win98, I think it will be like:

C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express\

or if you have user profiles enabled:

C:\Windows\Profiles\insert user name here\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express\

hmmm, now that I think of it, I think Outlook has a different way of storing emails compared to the free Outlook Express.

have you installed MS Office 2k on the xp computer?

Do you have it on the '98 computer?

your best bet is to copy the files manually from the '98 computer's Outlook Express folder to the XP computer's Outlook Express store folder. Then install Office on that computer, and it should ask you if you want to import your files from OE6...

Remember, I was referring to Outlook Express, not the one that comes with office (Outlook). I'm pretty sure that The Office version stores the same way...

so you got it down? Copy ALL the files from your store folder in '98 to a disk or CD, go to your XP computer, and get those files from the disk or CD, and copy them to your store folder in XP. Refer to my first post in this thread on how to do that

I've been using Outlook for some time (2000 and now XP) and I've always just exported to a .pst file. Works great.

Looks like he's already got it in Office 2k, and can just export from there...
