It COULD, perhaps, just be Wisconsin. We've already ran out of $$$ in our education budget, they've already cut out certain expensive (this could provoke a lot of negativity...I'm one that's all about education and more $$$ for that particular budget). We've cut spending on just about every area as well. The Unemployment rate has increased significantly in the past 6 months in WI. I think it went from %4 to %6 in the last 3 months (this is from what i heard on the news a week ago).
Its NOT getting better, it's NOT GOING TO GET better. If anything, this is just the start of a lot of hardship. ****ING capitolists are running this gd country. There's no chance for the arts or other related fields anytime in the near future. Its all about the green eyed pig on top while everyone else just trickles down.

God you are full of shit. In 6 months I guarantee you that you could have gotten a job SOMEWHERE. Stop posting on HAN and get off your ass and find SOMETHING. It wont be permanent, but its money. Stop blaming your problems on everyone else. Oregon's economy has the highest unemployment in the nation and both my girlfriend and I got jobs with absolutely NO experience in our respective fields.
Ha! I have a degree in Environemental Studies - Policy and Law. I wont be able to get any decent-paying job related to my major for at least another year and a half, and if Bush get's re-elected, it will be another 4 years on top of that
All of us people who sought out a field of study for something other than money are screwed right now. Fawk...

I follow up w/ a phone call on ALL OF THEM!
I fill out an average of 15 applications a week on BS jobs for the meantime
I follow up with a phone call on ALL OF THEM
I call an average of 5 to 10 companies NOT HIRING a week...just in case.
I go on location, I speak to THE RIGHT PEOPLE - I manage to get past HR at least %50 of the times I call or "walk in"
I could go on but I don't feel its needed
and once again I think this proves I'm not a lazy pot smoking looser like some of you may thing:

Vegas = the asshole of the US (the literal ass opening).
Its out in the middle of no where, ugly as fawk, and completely void of anything that doesn't revolve around gambling.
It's NASDAQ

I at one point was looking at Graphic Design as well, but after watching friends go through jobs like nothing and never have anything stable I decided against it. The market is very demanding and tedious, very stressful. Most of the people that I know are looking for something else to do, and they love doing graphics, but it's making them insane.
Also, you need to move. Maybe what I just said is true for Utah, but I'm sure there isn't much in WI. Getting with a big graphics firm would probably be the best for you. Move to California or New York. Stop smoking weed also, maybe your drug tests are coming back +

bleh...just having a bad day I suppose. Im trying to get past beating myself up and look at it from another perspective. I know it can't be me because I'm the most ambitiouse out of my graduating class. I was always the one that everybody else hated when applying for the same positions. I usually got the top pic. Sounds concieted, but its true. I have the most experience because I worked for it. If anything, I'm working 10000000 times harder now, and not seeing a damn thing in return.
