I understand the point, I think that just because it has turned into a religious debate everyone gets up in arms about it. "One Nation under God" doesn't have to be interpreted to mean that we are a favored nation. It could be interpreted to mean that we are a country that was founded on the basis of freedom to practice religion if you desire to do so.
and if my religion does not involve the term God in it as implied by the pledge of allegiance where does that leave me?

If you read your comment you will see that you have contradicted yourself in it

Its not really about the purchasing or not purchasing of Pepsi products at this point.

We came to your conclusion about a page and a half ago and we are now debating the freedom of religion and the inclusion of "under god" in the pledge of allegiance which in turn contradicts certain peoples freedom of religion.

Yup h: But the founders believed in God, so their freedom was realized in the ability to worship Him. I think if we can get away from thinking of the "Under God" thing as literal, it is not such a bad part of the Pledge. I know, I know, why should we even have to deal with it?? I don't know, throw something in there to reflect the fact that this country truly does give everyone freedom to practice or not practice any religion they choose.

i think all it boils down to is the fact that it is completely hypocritical. yes, our country was started by christians (not our founding fathers, i'm talking mayflower people) but the point is that we came over here for religious freedom. i think we tend to forget that.

everyday i read the editorials, and each day brings me closer to being fed up with this country. some guy actually wrote in complaining that he was asked if he had had sex with a man in the past seven years, and how that shows the homosexual culture was taking over.

This country is probably the most lenient as far as homosexuality goes...yeah, it makes me sick too.
