I understand the point, I think that just because it has turned into a religious debate everyone gets up in arms about it. "One Nation under God" doesn't have to be interpreted to mean that we are a favored nation. It could be interpreted to mean that we are a country that was founded on the basis of freedom to practice religion if you desire to do so.
and if my religion does not involve the term God in it as implied by the pledge of allegiance where does that leave me?
