Wow, are you sure thats all he had done? 1993-1997 Trans Ams had the LT1 V-8 (285 hp) and I've never known for a stock auto LT1 to run faster than a 14.3-14.4 (manuals run 14 flat) My best time has been a 13.5 @ 104 (also bone stock auto, w/ factory ram air) but most of the time I run 13.7s-13.8s @102-103. Its pretty dern fast for a factory car, and also has a nice pleasant ride for taking it easy... with better than average handling.

Autoxing is harder on a car than drag racing. Talk to guys that autox hard without a baffled oil pan.

werd.
SEVERAL times harder on your car. Much harder on you as well. Anyone can learn to be a decent drag racer.... but much fewer can master the twisties.
I work with a WRX ricer, and a civic ricer. Both try to race. not eachother, but others.
the wrx guy LEARNED stick on his brand new WRX that his daddy bought him. HE still sucks at driving stick, and if he didn't have AWD and brakes, he would be nothing more than a splat over the edge of the cliffs below PV (Palos Verdes, and the edges of PV are about 500+ ft. over the ocean with bigass rocks below the cliffs) this jackass goes driving around all fast and really slow on these twisting roads when he can barely even drive a stick. and the word downshift seems nonexistant to him... Daddy's allowance paid for his exhaust, and soon his coilovers. I wait patiently for when his tranny falls out while he's driving the corners he wishes he could take at Takumi speeds.
The civic driver is an all-show-wish-I-had-go-but-it's-not-as-important-to-me kinda guy. Anyone who saw my skyline/STi/evo pics thread has seen his white civic. So from the start, before he knew what I was all about starts tell me he races, and all this stuff. so I'm like whatev, dood you got a civic dx sedan. Even I beat him in races.... it's sad.
I know a guy with a supra. he's not a terrible driver, actually. however not better than me... which isn't saying a lot
but he hit a tree with his Supra taking those twisties on the PV hill. claimed it came out of nowhere :jerkit: I just laughed, told him he got owned for being too cocky and now he's gotta pay for it.
But at the end of the day... all three of them come to me asking what mods they should do to their cars because even my limited knowledge outweighs thiers by so much it's like comparing a BMW Z8 to a Ford Pinto. :lmao:
