My family's obsessed with HP too... it took me a while to get into it, but now I'm hooked. I read the first 4 books in 2 weeks and finished book 5 in a few days... my husband read it in less than 24 hours!

I don't know what fun people find in reading things that doesn't inform? I mean I would read things that would teach or inform me about something but if its a story that isn't true (ficitional ) then why not watch a movie?

 

you need an imagination

 

It's one of the oldest forms of entertainment... books and plays. What do you think people did before TV, computers.. cars.. movies.. they read. I'm personally glad to see it making a comeback.

in correct before tv,computers, cars, movies, people didn't read. books are a relatively new forms of entertainment, relatively speaking.

people actually gathered around a fireplace, hall what not to listen to a story teller.


you'll hate reading to if you had to read a 1000page reader for a law class every few weeks :rick:

 

i'm late on joining this thread:

1) i'm really pissed at myself for the way i acted years ago, that caused a large rift between me and my family.

2) i'm still a virgin because of previous "g/f's" using me for my money - which has resulted in low self-esteem.

3) i don't trust anyone...absolutely nobody

4) i regret starting this hobby on my car

5) the only friends i have measure the amount of respect you get by the number of women you had sex with. so with me sleeping with none...i'm not well respected. but they are the only people i have as "friends" my roommates are great people but they live far away.

6) back in high school i had 3 suicide attempts: a) overdose on valium, b) handgun to head, c) jump off top of building

7) while in college i regret picking up the smoking habit and slacking like i did in high school

8) i don't like to look in mirrors because i don't like to see myself.

...the list can go on...

 

9.- i think about killing myself a whole lot
10.- i dont have the balls to go through with it
11.- the past 2 weeks have shown me who my real firends are...every1 that i thought was a good friend...ISNT...and my self proclaimed best friend wont even talk to me or nething...and i really dont even know why
12.- i drink when i get depressed (im pretty much an alchoholic as stated b4)....but then the amount that i drink depresses me even more so i keep drinking

the list goes on...when i can actually post more i will...i just cant right now :happysad:
