im looking seriously into a hard drive cooler because thats what i think is causing the most heat
a harddrive cooler is no more than $20 right? give it a try.

water cooling is a good $200 im guessing. but its mostly for the CPU.

:werd:

I have 2 15K rpm SCSI drives and 4 10K rpm scsi drives.

The 4 10Ks are in a dedicated hot swap enclosure with 2 fans to cool them. The 2 15Ks are cooled the single 120mm fan in the back sucking out all the hot air.

then there are the 4 5400rpm ide drives... umm two of those are in the case so they sort of get cooled and the other two are outside the case.

everytimes I fire up that puppy the room temp goes up by a good 3-4F in 30mins :chuckles:

however I will say that when I had 2 CRTs in the room it got a lot hotter.

It's a lot cooler with the LCDs.

UV light on top a back...an 80 CFM for the back and one on the side for exhaust...a 120mm 50cfm for front intake....and instead of a hdd i put two 80mm fans on top of my HDD

then a small 60mm on the bottom back

i turned all on low so its quiet
The system is cold but my room get really hot from the exhaust, the only way to cool your room is to turn on the AC

like 94civicex....cheapos who dont want watercooling buy personal AC's small enought to put in front of your PC

Damnit just take the cover out and put it near the window. and I bet the monitor makes more heat than your comp. unless you have LCD.
