Default Honest opinion for swap :)

Hello everyone

I've got a 95 Integra LS (auto) w/ 82K on it, and I've been thinking about nothing but swaps lately.

I've pretty much narrowed it down to settling with the B18C1 GS-R swap and then switching out the cams.

Some have said that's dumb, sell you car and get a hatch, then swap it in there.

My basic reasoning for this is that I got my car from my friend's dad who treated the car greatly. I love the G3 Integra body style and the Milano Red color (only faded a bit in one spot).

I love the car and I intend on keeping the car as long as possible, but the only thing that bothers me is the transmission and the motor. Of course, I want something with a bit more kick.

Open for suggestions and your opinions ( places for purchase, other mods on top of the cams..etc.), greatly appreciated

Add a Vtec head since you already have the LS block then do a manual tranny swap.

Problem solved for a much lower cost than the B18C1.

save your money and do something productive with it

You'd be spending 5 or so grand to go just over a second faster. If you wanna go a second faster, just get a 55 shot of nitrous and use it at the track. In my opinion, the swap you want to do is spending a whole not and not getting a whole lot back, other then being able to say you've got a b18c...

I was considering that too, but i don't trust the whole LS/VTEC ordeal. I want to be able to rely on the motor and all, it's just i don't trust the LS/VTEC IMO.

Yeah that's true, that's what my gf has been saying to me. But i'm not hearin that

You're right about not being all the faster compared to before, but like i said i want the manual tranny w/ VTEC hence GS-R. I figure since I would at least want a manual tranny to wait a little bit longer and stick out the money for the GS-R motor with a good amount of miles on it.

But thank you guys for your opinions so far, greatly appreciated

edit: excuse my writing, i'm getting sleepy. h:

How much money do you have right now and how much of it can you spend on the swap?

If you have to save up for 3,4,6-12months, I wouldn't bother.

If you have the money then do a 2.0L resleeve then turbo that bish.

Right now I'm sitting on about 500

That's part of the reason why I posted, but i'm for sure doing this and dedicated to it. I know a guy who will do it for me, he's done a bunch of swaps and i work with him so that will cut costs down a bit.

I've already looked at prices and all, but what do you guys consider good price ranges for the complete swap for the ITR and the GS-R?

I would say for the GS-R, one shouldn't spend more than 3400
And as for the Type-R, one shouldnt' spend more than 5000?
