Default what place takes off lugs???

when i had my tires changed...and put back on...they used a torch wrench air tool...that shit must of been on atleast 100 ft/lbs or torque...b/c im braking tools left and right...and to get them off im using a 13/16 socket and hammering OVER the existing lug...

well..i only have one 13/16 left and im sick of it scratchign up the inside of the rim where the lug goes...

anyhow..blah blah blah...

what place cuts off lugs and how much do they charge..i have 6 left to get off...without scratching up my rims..if they do will they pay?

Take it back to the place that put them on and let them deal with it, then tell them to put them back on, but only with 30-40 lb/ft of torque.

Usually they just tighten the shit out of it with air tools, not down to spec with a torque wrench. That's supposedly one of the reasons that Hondas tend to get warped brake rotors; they hubs only like it when you use a torque wrench and get the lugs down to 80 lb/ft.

Take it back, say you want the lugnuts torqued down properly so you can get them off with hand tools when necessary.

You sure they aren't cross threaded? On my old lude when I had new tires put on they cross threaded one of the lugs, and it was a BITCH to get off.

What kind of lug nuts do you have? Why are you using a 13/16" socket? Shouldn't you use either a 3/4" or 19mm?

30-40 might not be safe, best to go with 80.

also if it's tighten to 80lb/ft it will take more than 80ft/lb to release the nut.

Oops, forgot to also mention that slipping a pipe over the ratchet or whatever tool's handle will make lugnut removal a breeze.

I like to be able to get mine off with a hand lug wrench. I also make sure that my mom or GF can get them off if they have to, without bouncing up and down on the lug wrench.

It's all a matter of oppinion. I've had no problems with mine in the last 10 years. (rotors or wheels coming loose.)

Just make sure you have lifetime warranty on the ratchet. I've seen more than one come in to the store I worked at with stripped gears because of that reason. Also, sockets are not meant to take that kind of torque, so use an impact socket if you do that. I've also seen more than one split socket come back.

If you have a lifetime warranty, go at it.
