This, call your agent, give them a heads up, I would drive that for $2K, might even see if I could scare up a bumper cover from the wrecking yard, or clean that up and spray it. You can buy rattle cans of whatever color you can imagine. Do a couple coats, buff it out, you'd be surprised.

The folks got a check for $1200 when the super beetle got swiped. The boot for the convertible top was like $350, jack and tool kit was over $100, incidental crap for the rest, it got dinged up a bit, but at least they did not fuck up the dash, interior or the top. Dad just sent the insurance company a list of quotes, they cut the check.

Both times I got ass ended in the 'teg they sent the check to me, first time I got to pocket the price of the badge, that I did not want on there and never liked in the first place. I put it on the credit card for the frequent flyer miles, 25% of a ticket to Texas.

Judging from the picture the damage doesn't look that bad at all. Go to the body shop and ask them to look at the damage and give you the best estimate of the cost. That would give you an idea of how much the insurance will pay. I'm not 100% sure if your rates will go up so I would just try and take as much as I can from the other guy and rock the car as is..you can find those parts off of any junk yard easy with the matching color already.
