Official: Final Fantasy 13 thread
Yeah, I can grind for that crap, but is there a way to really make bucks to trick out your weapons?

Doing some CP farming on Chapter 10...killing 10 of the wormy things nets 640CP. If I preemptively strike them I finish the battle in 6 seconds....the preemptive strike part takes 13 seconds
On the other hand, getting the final forms for your weapons would be pretty much a necessity to beat the last few hunt missions.
You probably won't be able to pull it off easily as soon as you get there but once you get strong enough, its in the NW corner of the main area... you'll know when you see it.
By the start of CH 11, I have an L35 Helter Skelter. I spent 2 days farming "Bomb Shells" from CH10 and upgrading the dickens outta Lightning's blade. This thing is dominating.
Now I'm on CH 11 and I think I'm lost. :lmao: I know I'm on the right track because the story keeps generating cut scenes, but man ... the story went from being on rails to being wide open. I'm going to take my time around here.
Also, I haven't used Sazh (or whatever) in forever. He's got over a quarter million unused CP's. :chuckles:
Lol. You'll have a chance to come back to this whole area before the end (the game will give you a very obvious "last chance" before the final battles begin) but feel free to dick around now and enjoy the scenery.
The best place I have found for Gil/CP Farming is in the tower on the 5th level. I believe it is challenge 24.
You have to beat the boss at the top of the tower before you can repeat the battle over and over again.
It is 6k CP and 6k gil per fight.
You have to take the main elevator down to the 4th floor, then go into the room with the birds, then take the internal elevator to the 5th floor. Examine the big guy, and take the mission as many time as you want. Takes about 15 seconds for each fight once you get leveled up a little.
There is also another elevator available on the Apex of the tower (not the one that sends you to Oerba or the main elevator) that takes you to the sixth floor I believe, maybe the seventh.
Go down it, examine bot of the statues on that floor. Once you do you will see a message that says the main elevator can now access all levels.
Go back out of that room and you will see a treasure chest, that will have your Collector's Guide (I think that is the first form of it) in it.
Equip it to one of your party members that is on your battle team. This will allow you to get rare drops from battles which will also allow you to get your omega weapons transformer items dropped in chapter 12.
Just found this little spot last night while I was going back through the tower for CP farming.
