Default Jerky cacs enter.

Well, since you ******** all abandoned F5, you missed out on a post I made in the jerky thrend thanking all of you. So I am just going to do it here. Thanks you guys, for making it all possible h:

Also, I made a page on my site with the step-by-step rundown of the entire process so you guys could see how it is done:

http://www.shadypetes.com/how-i-make-it

The irony is, I just got braces put on so I won't even be able to eat jerky for the next 20 months, hahahaha. I am going to need an official jerky tester for any batches I make. :rick:

Shady website… Legit jerky.
:chuckles:

That is pretty cool. Might have to make some. How much is a meat slicer or dehydrator?

Since you have a vacuum machine, you can put the meat in a vacuum bag during marination process and it will marinate in MUCH less time than it just sitting in a bowl of liduid.

All you really need is the dehydrator. The Ronco ran me $40 at Target, but there are much better ones out there. I only got the slicer because I make a lot of it so it is a lot easier on my hands and faster too. This food slicer was $100.

Good thought, I didn't think of that. However, when I make a batch of spicy I like to constantly mix it up with my hands to make sure the red pepper flake is on all the pieces of jerky and if it was all in an airtight bag, I think that would be difficult to do.

Yeah I googled them and saw about the range of prices. If your were gonna do it occasionally could you just cut the meat with a regular knife, or maybe a filet?
This one lady sells her homemade at our local flea market for like $5-6 a ziplock bag, and has like 15 dif flavors and shit. Doin that it wouldnt take much to get the inital investment of marinades, equipment and seasonings back. Seems like it could pretty lucrative if youre in the right are. That lady makes a killing every single saturday she sells. and im sure her husband or son is at some other flea market near by doin the same thing.

Werd, I don't really want to mess around with too many different flavors. I keep it simple: spicy or regular. But this summer, I plan on selling it at my stepdad's business. He has a driving range that is open from spring to fall so I am sure I'd be able to sell plenty there.
