Need halp finding a laptop
Others on here would disagree, but I've seen more than a few have bad issues. In fact nearly all of them in my experience. My ex's mom had one that didn't have any problems, but then again it was a month old when we broke it off

they can't even keep the bad press on their own forums under control. Speaks volumes when you see companies like samsung on cnet forums, where they are actually actively involved in fixing problems

wait so you'd prefer that companies suppress bad press about their products on their own forums? as in hide it and not allow people to talk about it? ala Apple policy on their forums?

I can probably find more studies but here is one that was posted on TH not so long ago. Not sure if their methods were all too great or whether HP laptops were reported more often because their users were less likely to fix failures themselves (which would explain ASUS winning out) but I also don't think that explains a 50%+ hike over other manufacturers.
No, but I've been spoiled by the amazing support on cnet for my Samsung stuff.

that's not to say some HP laptops are crap. you get what you pay for and every computer manufacturer has crap laptops. which is why I tend to stay away from the bottom rung stuff from all manufacturers.

I understand where you are coming from with HP, with all the Dell horror stories I have never had a problem except for a bad ram stick in a back to forth college desktop after two years. I still catch flack for suggesting them as a reliable manufacturer but I've had nothing but A++. I still personally can't recommend or stand seeing someone buy HP when I know about it. :dunno:
...speak of the devil a 10 year old xpsT800R is chilling idle in the corner right now :hs: I remember when that shit was balla
