have to go so fucking overboard about their new found faith. I have a buddy who was about the biggest fuck up on the planet, drugs, jail, etc. Always a great guy, very smart and well liked but not the greatest in the decisions department. Well about a year ago he "found god" and now all he does is preach about how my soul is in dire trouble because I haven't found christ....FUCK OFF, you have been a devout christian for like 15 minutes and now you want to judge me? /rant

 

in my experience its like that for alot of new found faith. I'm nit sure why... maybe its cause they found peace and happiness in their new fait and they think everyone will feel the same :dunno:

 

you know like, I am happy for the guy he has really turned his life around. Finished school, got a good job, got married and really is doing well...so I get a hold of him to catch up (I remove negative people from my life, and he was one of them during his down time. I tried to help but he pushed and pushed until it was starting to drag me down trying to pull him up) well it's all going great he is telling me all this stuff, then comes the christ shit, then he starts going into like sell my religion to you mode and I don't even want to be around him anymore it sucks.

I fully understand and agree with you. you should try to just telling him that you think its cool and all but you dont want the whole preaching thing.

 

my old roommate is the same way. homeless, herion addict, you name it. then he found God and all he does is preach. you can ask him a question about anything and somehow he'll find a bible reference for it. WTF? :facepalm:

 

all new christians do that, its annoying. ask him to please respect your nonbelief as you will respect his and leave it at that. he'll learn eventually that aggressively imposing his new faith is not the way to go about it..

 

some people stop smoking and pick up chewing gum, other people stop doping and start believing in god

 

Tell him "I liked you better when you were going to hell"

 

Hey man, some people are just excited they found a new meaning to their life. Let them shine for a minute because you never know when they'll fall back into their ways.
