Gripe here.
So there's a wedding this weekend in Chicago. The original plan was for me, my buddy and his girlfriend to drive out there together, have a good time, drive back. Buddy and gf only have one car (a corolla) which technically belongs to her. I don't trust my infiniti to make a long distance trip and I definitely don't want to end up on the side of the road in the middle of Nebraska, so we decided to take the corolla.
Well now due to school the gf can't make it to the wedding. But she's not letting us take her car either. Keep in mind she lives about a 10 minute bus ride from school. My girl has a brand new jetta, and she offered to let buddy's gf borrow it for the weekend to free up the corolla for us (she would have just let us take the jetta if it weren't for her lease mileage), but buddy's gf still refused. Supposedly because she can't use her parking spot at school in a different car...
So now we're paying $200 to rent a car, and as far as I can tell, the only reason is to save her a 4 minute walk from a farther away parking spot.
I understand that it's her car and her decision, but it just seems really stingy to me. I just wish we had known this more than 2 days before we were planning on leaving.
Just wanted to get it off my chest in the hopes of improving my mood and having a good trip

1) Coworker stopped by and mentioned lunch earlier so I said shoots..why not? He stops by 2 min later....."dag, forgot my wallet. i can't go."
Of course its a d1ck move to not cover him today, so i covered him even though i'm not eating out tomorrow, told him to just pay me back cash.
Then we go to Five Guys and he never likes ordering his own fries since they give you a lot of fries with one order. So he just orders a Bacon Cheeseburger and drink.........ends up eating my extra fries. I bet he only pays me for the burger/drink tomorrow.
2) Coworkers that utilize speakerphone when they are the only ones listening to the call. I don't need to hear your damn convo!

I'm imagining this complaint from the other side:
I was going drive my boyfriend and his buddy to Chicago in my Corolla, but school obligations came up and can't, so they have to find their own way to go. They still want to take my car though, even though its not theirs. His friend's gf offered to let me use her car while they're gone, but no thanks, this is my car and I don't need the extra wear and tear when there are other cars available.
Why, exactly, can't you take your gf's jetta?
