The throttle cable on my 4Runner got a stuck about 1/4 open for a brief moment. I pushed in the clutch, came to a stop, turned off the car, opened the hood, lubed the cable. Problem solved.

About 3 mins before the crashed people reported to 911 seeing the lexus blow past them with smoke coming from the rotors
Darwinism. They taught us in driving school that if the throttle got stuck open, we simply should throw it into neutral or shut the engine off. Ive had cheap floormats do the same thing in traffic and you dont see me looking like meat waffles on the side of the road.
