wait, takeout is when you personally go and pick the pizza up by yourself, right?

i dont see why any tip has to be offered since you collected it yourself/not sitting at a table for a waiter to serve you.

Well, true.

But it's used interchangeably for "delivery"

Correct. But if they have a tip jar and I'm paying with cash, I'll usually toss in a dollar. Especially if it's a hot chick behind the counter h:

too confusing.

so you are tipping for a service viz. him giving you your pizza and your change back?

Of course I tip. Delivery charges go to the business, not the delivery person. You'd have to be a cheap son of a bitch not to tip.

Yes. It is not required, but those jobs suck and pay dick. So if he makes an extra buck it'll make his shift a little better and like I give a shit about $1. Good karma for me

:edit: Plus they sometimes toss in "extras" for tippers (i.e. more dipping sauce, cookie, whatever depending on the business). If it's a place you frequent, you can also earn hookups by tipping when not required
