i still tip... but usually i dont realize there's a delievery fee until after i tipped the guy. if there's a fee i will no longer order from them.

Pizza hut had a delivery fee of like $1.25, but only a quarter actually went to the driver. In most cases, they are buying their own gas, paying their own insurance etc, and get payed jack shit (less than minimum wage, in my case).

Also keep in mind if your pizza is late, 90% of the time it's not the driver's fault but rather then store manager routing deliveries. Tipping is a very easy way to improve your karma h:

The amount of time it takes to get a pizza to a given house does not change more than a few minutes depending on the driver (assuming he doesn't get lost). If the manager gives him five deliveries all to different parts of town, there's nothing the driver can do to get that last one there on time. Hence, it's the manager's fault that the pizza is late.
