Top or Bottom
As nelson said, both have there pro's and cons.
Top
Pros: Better Securrty, No one above you, Warm in the winter time, if neighbour pours grease down the drain and it hardens it won't back up into your sink but into theirs.
Cons: Hot in the summer time, Pain in the ass with moving things, if the roof leaks pain in the ass,
Bottom
Pros: Easier access, cooler in the summer, no one living below you so you can play DDR all you want,
Cons: Rodents are the first to come to you, colder in the winter, chance for noisy neighbours above you, less safer in a bad urrea.
That's all I can think of.

Which reminds me. One of the two guys pled guilty last week. He got TEN YEARS in jail. The second defendent is still pleading not guilty... his trial got pushed back to November. I'm betting his lawyers weren't too happy with the 10 year sentence received by the other defendent.

Top.
More privacy, plus it's like living in a treehouse. Usually tops have porches that are secluded. I love sleeping on my porch when the weather is nice... couldn't do that if I lived on the bottom. I don't ever want to sleep on a ground floor, it would suck in the privacy department.
Moving isn't bad. Groceries? come on. Maybe if you buy 10 bags worth every day it might get annoying.

top floor if you dont want to deal with loud people above you and you dont want to pay as much for heat. moving up there will suck, but that only lasts a day. i lived on a third floor of a house once and i wouldnt even need to turn my heat on in the winter, even though it was included
