I don't think either country can brag about our health care systems so how about we just stfu.

Canada is 30th on the list and the USA is 37th. Big whoop. France takes the cake in health care.

World health organizations list

http://www.photius.com/rankings/healthranks.html

edit: this was compiled in 2000 and the WHO doesn't do it anymore but it gives you an idea.

I dig... and it's a great source but i will disagree with any list that notes UAE and Saudi Arabia higher then Canada and USA. Just saying... i dont feel like reading all the reasons but i will just assum that they are basing this on the health care effectiveness for citizens only.

i wish this were the only case like this in my family. i wish it were propaganda.

socialism works in largely homogeneous societies where almost everyone is paying into the system. the USA is exactly the opposite of this.

i think it works pretty well here. My dad had a heart attack and he still survived. Then was diagnosed with kidney cancer he survived. All the treaments were free and so is the follow up checks. I dont know of anyone that had to suffer because of the wait period.

I'm a strong believer in universal health care. I also think it still a something to be proud of in Canada. it's not perfect but no system is.

and in canada maybe it works.

here i am convinced that it won't for the reason i mentioned above.

and by the way, i don't know of anyone that has died here from not getting the surgery they needed. and at least in this state, the "poor" get (for free) far better coverage than those of us paying into the system. even so, i've had surgery and i think it cost me $40 or $60 in co-pays. big deal.

our system is far from perfect, but i think the best bet for us is still to stay private.
