I didn't watch the cartoon when I was younger so I'm guessing I won't like the movie

You might like it. Probably not if you didn't watch growing up. Check out some of the cartoon clips on youtube and see if you like it.

I loved it, but that's only because I didn't go into with any expectations at all.

Have an open mind, relax and enjoy a little time off and you should like it, if not you suck. That's my review.
