iPhone 3gS ... is it really worth it?
show me one widely available phone for under $250 that has a 16gb hard drive, 3g speed, wifi, bluetooth, gps, 3mp camera with video and autofocus, full function and easy to use mp3 player, complete customization and the ease of use that is comparable to the iphone ... there isnt one. theres areas the iphone lacks but as a consumer technology it's unbeatable. every time someone says they have the iphone killer the iphone still sells more
i'm bar far no bandwagon fan of apple but theres nothing to compare to the iphone it's easily the best phone on the market today
i have no problems with phone calls on my phone and i spend the majority of my time in areas where poor service is a notorious issue

Now granted, the iPhone does have better customer purchase rate, and 3.5mm headphone jack. My one major gripe with it.
This is just going to become a pissing match left and right...we each have a phone that we love. I was just merely pointing out that the iPhone is not as "my farts smell like strawberry" as it really is when you break it down. It has insane user friendliness and quick learning curve along with the app store. I just merely have to either download it via internet, or sync it to my phone later on.

The new iPhone and the software update for current iPhone will provide for landscape keyboard and MMS. Kbi.

My Omnia (with contract) is usually $99, have 8gb internal with microSD slot to make it as big as you want (right now I'm at 16gb), Verizon network (which is hands down better and faster than any other on the market), WiFi, Bluetooth (stereo I believe), GPS (with reflash), 5mp camera/camcorder with auto focus and insane customization, not as easy, but is once you get over the learning curve, MP3, video player, video calling, tethering (via USB, WiFi, and bluetooth), shit ton of flash/customization support, I can have multiple boot OS's (group is working on Android on the phone, so I have WM6.5 which isn't out yet, and could have Android damn soon.)

It's awesome that they are updating it, just weird that they didn't have these from the start, or with the 3g over the 2g.

I agree, it should have had it from the beginning. MMS/landscape keyboard are the reasons I didn't get it last year when I got my phone. Hopefully I'll be getting one from work soon. :rick:

2G to 3GS upgrade is a no-brainer.
3G to 3GS, I'm not really sure if it's worth it.
FYI, iPhone 3.0 software was leaked a few days ago. Installed it on my 2G and some of the features are pretty cool (especially landscape texting, email, everything).
