It's been for sale for 4 months but the bank never got around to put it on the MLS. We signed the papers a few days ago. Place was 590K when it was built in winter of '06. We offered 280K. The bank countered at 305K with them paying closing and we jumped on it.
Fuck I wish I had a house like that.

This is out in the sticks though. I drive 25 miles to work. We wouldn't be able to afford it if it were in town. We'd probably only get half the house for the money. We have to drive at least 10 miles to get anywhere but it's quiet and there's not crime or polution so it has it's upsides.

That 35K place is a steal. Is the garage detached? How many sq. ft.?

Yeah, it's kind of ironic though. We're not posh. We just have a decent amount of equity in our current home and this one came down to half of what it was worth when it was built. We'll be the odd one's in the neighborhood driving a 10 year old honda and a 8 year old Toyota. There's a lot of beamers and big trucks around.

0.25 isn't bad IMO. If you have kids or you're going to have kids that's plenty of room for them to run around. That's the bad thing about the lots around here. Small. That house we're buying is only on a 0.23 acre and the house takes up almost half of it.

10,000 sq ft lots are big around here. most 1000-1300 sq ft houses sit on 4-6000 sq ft lots

shits ... that crazy

my family owned 100 acres but we have over 2000 to play on in terms of neighbors and county/state land that borders ours

i can go a minimum 2 miles in any direction and not be trespassing h:

so needless to say i dont think i could handle a 4000 sq ft lot
