It all sounds the same to me. You "electronica" (to use the proper term I guess) kids overclassify the stuff way too much. That's like classifying rock bands on whether they use a blues riff in their songs or a major chord and then calling them "completely different."

eh, the classifications mostly lie in the melodic structure, drum sampling, and such.
but I'll agree, too much seperation. And rock is where its at :rockon:

There's the same sort of variations in hip hop, jazz, rock, blues, hell even classical. But you don't see any of those divided up based on melodic structure.

theres a difference in techno sound and trance sound
"Soft rock" is what radio stations use to indicate that they are safe for old people to listen to.
Play a Jimi Hendrix album and then play a Lynrd Skynrd album. Both of em are plain ole rock 'n roll and they sound very different.
