also amuses me that the company i work for believe the presence of us unarmed security officers is going to deter a criminal, especially one with a weapon.

I'm only talking about Colorado laws here, using them as a contrast. I understand they aren't applicable to this case in GA. Our carry laws have specific wording that the only time you AREN'T allowed to carry is if electronic screening is in place, it's a Federal or State building, or it's a school.
you're still missing my point ... regardless of what the state law says on him carrying in restaurants the fact that the owner posted signage and specifically said no guns trumps the law. he's not allowed to carry there. he's not going to receive the same charge as if he was arrested in a state building but he's still going to get arrested if the owner chooses for him to be.

if the owner had said you cant carry here and he says yea well state law says i can ... owner could have him arrested ... thats the property owner trumping state law. the state law says you can but ONLY if the property owner allows it. if not and you dont comply you can be arrested just the same

in this case the manager was not complying with the property owner which could result in his termination or arrest

It's my understanding that if the owner tells him specifically to his face then he can be arrested for not leaving. He can't be arrested for just having it, he has to be asked to leave with the firearm. Same for published policy. They can fire you all you want but I don't see someone getting arrested because of anything other than specifically being asked to leave and/or leave and come back without the gun and refusing to do so.

Spanky has it right in regards to CO gun laws. Even if the property owner wants him to be arrested, he won't be unless he refuses to leave the premises. He can't be arrested for having a gun on him, even if the property owner doesn't allow it. "No guns allowed" signs are worthless in CO.

That's not to say that an overzealous cop or one who isn't familiar with the specific law wouldn't arrest him anyway, but no charges would be filed.

this is the same argument that pro-gun people try to use on anti-gun activists...it falls on deaf and dumb ears, unfortunately.

How am I owned exactly? you were the one who posted something absolutely void of content, intelligence or relevence to the article. So apparently you were either baffled by the large words or your attention span was incapable of holding together long enough to form an opinion worth noting.
