we've gotta make our presence known in the pacific region. training with our allies and preventing aggression. that sorta thing. and when the occasional natural disaster hits we're there to help. we just happened to be up next in the rotation.

vietnam's still communist. i dont see the american military doing bi-lateral training with them anytime soon.
Oh man looks like you weren't even allowed to go to the beaches.
Subic Bay has some nice beaches. There's even a kart track in the area where all the rich kids play.
Did you hang out at any street beer stands? Those were some of my favorite times. Just hang out with some buddies, grab a small table, some peanuts, beers, and a guitar... good times.

we werent allowed to ride the go karts. or do any water activities like swimming, diving, or ride jet ski's. they were all deemed high risk activities and thus our command said no.
so we resorted to drinking. didnt see any street beer stands. just found a bar we liked and hung out there all day.
