+1 i've fit a car seat and a small child in the seat next to it in nicole's versa.

Even these small SUVs have about about a foot more rear hip room than the Versa.

Besides, not only would I like my children to be comfortable but I'm not too keen on keeping a newborn near the window.

Exactly. Same reason we got rid of the TL. Even a little more room makes a HUGE differerence.

I'd stick with a slightly used RAV4/ Highlander/ CRV/ Pilot. You really can't go wrong and I'm sure they're relatively riced to the versa.

The Highlander (not latest gen) is very nice. Mar's dad has the 4 banger and her grandpa has the v6 limited fully loaded and they're both equally nice. The 4 banger has decent power, great gas mileage and is super sturdy. Feels very "reliable/toyota-ish".

All the aforementioned cars should offer LATCH connectors in the middle of the rear seat for super easy baby carseat install. Also, not having to bend over to put the kid in the car is a HUGE backsaver.

I say go for it. :irock:
