I am really good at functionaity for things, I am a very mechanical, process based person. I do not have the graphic skills in Gimp or Photoshop to make the site look like the one you sent. My fiancé does, but she has a lot on her plate right now and no time to help.

When she does have time she will be making a custom header and graphic buttons for navigation, so that will help clean it up a lot.

The reason i went with JAlbum to do my photos was because I don't have time to custom code something to give me the same functionality that I can get out of the box. The album is skinable, but I have had good luck with this one and will continue to use it until I can write something that is really clean and integrates easily into the site.

use what works for you man

TextPad is notepad for Linux.

All my styles are done in CSS, very little is inline html. Now that I have the basic setup, TextPad is all I will use cause it is what I know, and I can do everything faster with it.
