Catching wild pigs
There are prisons being built around the country, some finished and not being used due to a lack of funding(although they have unmarked buses going in and out of these finished prisons regularly).
I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I'm just a watcher watching, I know it sounds crazy, but so did the Holocaust, and Nanking, darfur, rwanda, USSR...Mankind has a history of violence, and a short lived memory

h:Not only that but you have a bunch of private prisons, they rely on having prisoners for revenue. Ain't that some fucked up shit.
Stop the drug war!!!
I would worry more about food than ammo, you can't eat bullets to stay alive
We started stocking up on rice, oatmeal, and are looking into some TVP (soy protein meat replacement) all these things can be stored for some time without refrigeration and cooked with basic means. Plus they won't break the budget. Water purification drops wouldn't be bad to have or a non-electric water distillery. Plus spices....flavoring ingredients, dehydrated fruits/veggies vacuum sealed. I'd say about a years supply at a light ration, say 100lbs of rice, 30lbs oatmeal, 40lbs TVP, 20lbs dehyd, 10lbs of candy, plus spices would last my family of 4 a year(have to have some kind of sweets especially with kids). About $400 worth of items that will last 2-4years in a pantry, longer if vacuum sealed. The key is to have recipes and actually use the items so you aren't repulsed by the food if you have to resort to eating it alone
h: People were starving in the great depression, and with the mass layoffs and such going on now I don't think this is crazy thinking at all, I need to make sure I can feed my children in the event shit goes really south.
You know what they say, better to have and not need, than need and not have. As long as it doesn't break the bank.
I could put the dots together in a long post showing the elaborateness of everything going on in the world, but it would be like saying I saw a ufo:roofles:

h:Vitamins are important as well, with limited amounts of food you probably won't get the necessary nutrients, so get those too.
