i think of "networked" as being tethered with some sort of software or the likes.

It can be many things. Most of the time, it is computers on the same internal network. Being, they do not have to go through the internet in order to connect to each other.

Any computer able to access the internet in the same household is "networked" but they may be on a different workgroup, or the user may not know how to share and see shared folders.

As long as you can see the computer when you hit browse in "add network place" your good.

I'm pretty sure even the workgroup does not matter at that point.

take out hard drive, stick it into one of those fancy external drive reader thingys, connect it to new computer... win.

Brett just doesn't want to do it over the network. He feels if he's going to help his brother, he's going to make him pay for something that Brett will inevitably take for himself. Then realize he'll probably get little to no use out of it, and end up with useless junk laying around.

good point

in that case, go to newegg and get a usb converter. the one i have supports IDE2.5,3.5 & SATA.

a crossover is so expensive to buy though.... i personally wouldnt be able to justfy the purchase and shipping its just so cheap to make one


and spending 50 on a hdd hes going to use once...might as well put it towards an ipod imho
