many computers nowadays will recognize regular straight-thru patch cable. so you can try that first. but if your computers are already on a network, what's the point?

if he has an ipod:

sync
copy pics and docs to ipod


on new comp:
show all files and folders (including hidden)

copy the entire ipod onto the computer

done.

I suggest this method out of pure speed and ease since all the music is probably already on the iPod-- i've done it neumerous times and it's not that hard to do.

just re-import the folder into the new computer's itunes when you're done copying, when you consolidate the library it should sort everything out for you.
