Case in point would be the postponement of races due to ice making it, "too dangerous for the drivers"...WTF?? come on this is what rally racing was all about before the big dollar got involved. thanks for the exposure but the multi billion dollar companies can go away now, the fans and the real drivers will still be here regardless of what you do.
just like the fuel shortages in the 70's ...

actually i am interested to see what happens to nascar next year with whats going on in detroit. i know so much of the money comes from just sponsorships overall, but the manufacturers still should be fronting most of the money for teams. i know its no where the price of how much it costs to run in F1 but still interested to see what will happen...

NASCAR honestly will be the last to feel the effects because billions of dollars in sales are generated by it so it is a guaranteed return on investment. People buy items according to the drivers name or team associated with it. I am not a NASCAR fan in the least but the end result of that series is pure cashflow.

F1 cannot say the same as it tends to bleed money and recoup very little of that.

I doubt it. The cost of a GP motorcycle isn't as great as getting a car up and running to rally specs. It does cost a lot to get to the track, get it set up etc...but I don't think it is as expensive as F1, or Rally.
