Well to be honest I doubt this is the end of rally by any means. Actually I think it will strengthen the sport because over the last few years it has gone from a race for the hardcore drivers and become a pussified version of itself due to big money sponsorship. This has also taken out a large portion of the competition because the entry level cost is ridiculous anymore.
Case in point would be the postponement of races due to ice making it, "too dangerous for the drivers"...WTF?? come on this is what rally racing was all about before the big dollar got involved. thanks for the exposure but the multi billion dollar companies can go away now, the fans and the real drivers will still be here regardless of what you do.
