18" is legal length for all states (that i know of) and federal. 16" for rifle

keep in mind OAL can't be less than 26" for rifle or shotgun.

so if OAL were < 26, would that just qualify it as a pistol? :hsugh: dumb question?? or does it just categorize it as a felony violation of firearms laws...

it qualifies it as a SBS

which means you need a tax stamp and your state needs to allow them

and being new york i doubt they do

you cant classify something as a pistol if it has a stock

it would qualify as pound me in the ass prison. i dont' htink i've ever seen a gun whose barrel can be legal lenth yet have an OAL < 26." most long gun receivers are 10" long.

that said, i think it'd fall under AOW or either SBS/SBR depending on what it is.

either way, it's FPMITAP.

not only that but the only way to make a pistol is to start off as either a pistol or a bare receiver. you cannot turn a rifle into a pistol. that's why the new 4473 has "pistol," "long gun," or "other." if you transfer a stripped receiver it goes under other and you have to be 21.

so one of my sigs is going back to sig soon for some warranty work. I've had a considerable amount of failure to extracts. I have about 2-3 per mag when I went last friday. I called up sig yesterday and spoke with a customer service rep and got emailed a shipping label. I'm going to ship it out next week and from what I understand the turn around time is about 5-7 days. For the gun I have I hear they replace the ejector and spring and that fixes the issue. Its unfournatly a common issue with the first batch of p250s. my newer one is pretty much flawless thankfully.
