i've never understood the magazine ban anyway. full auto weapons, sure. but no more then 10 rounds? gay.

imo, a trained shooter such as myself, :rick: , can do just as much damage with one 10rd mag as joe schmoe can with one 30rd. :dunno:

Eh...those are just feel good laws. Makes people feel safe and politicians feel like they are doing something. But it sure as hell screws me over when the zombies attack. Worthless.

Definitely illegal in the Soviet Socialist Republic of California. Can't manufacture, sell, or import "high capacity" mags here. Possession of super deadly high capacity mags is only legal if you lived in CA and purchased them here prior to the ban. Folks moving here from out of state can't bring high cap mags into the state, even if they are pre-ban, as that would be considered importing them. Such is what we must put up with living in a state run by brain dead liberals.

In Denver, you can't have mags above 20 rounds. It's a completely useless city council "ordinance" (not even a real law IMO), but per the wording of the statute you can get up to 6 months in jail if you are in violation. It's also incredibly ambiguously written - I had a buddy of mine who is a lawyer for the Department of Homeland Security take a look at it a couple years ago, and he felt that it was so poorly written that under some interpretations it might even make pistols like the Glock illegal, as they have 20+ round magazines "available."

Edit -- fortunately I don't live in Denver anymore, and can have all the 30+ round magazines I want.

Well, picked up a S&W m&p 15 sport last Friday and shot 400 rounds through it. Shot good but I'm not exactly an ar expert. Maybe you guys could help. Would like to have a forward assist and dust cover. What's a good upper to get (if I can even put one on it)? Also, good home defense ammo.

Pretty much any standard AR-15 upper will fit the M&P 15 lower. You could just get a standard M&P 15 upper that has the forward assist and dust cover. I believe Colt and DPMS uppers are pretty good. There are probably many more, the AR experts here will likely have other suggestions.
