I know it's probably been discussed a million times...but I'm about to buy an AR-15 with my tax returns, what optics do you guys prefer? Red Dot or Holographic? I really don't have any experience with either and I know I will need to try both before making a final decision, but I was just wanting to get some feedback from those who have shot with both.

I personally prefer holographic but it really depends on the person and the gun.

Same shit. Aimpoint with a dot or Eotech with a circle and a dot.

All personal preference. Some people prefer and are faster than Aimpoint, some with Eotech.

A lot of people like Aimpoint because they are generally more robust and have insane battery life (something like 60k hours).
