I think our wedding cost us less than $100.00 total...

I don't know maybe I am just too much of a realist when it comes to these matters but I don't want to start my married life in the hole financially especially in these uncertain times. That money could go to many more beneficial things for my wife and I other than impressing our friends with a huge wedding.

I spent 15k on my wedding out of my own pocket and to be honest even though I had the money and wanted my wife to be happy I saw it as a waste of money better spent on other things.
Generally speaking I agree, but this...

...is probably true. Blame it on inflation but it seems like a 15k wedding in the 90's is a 30k wedding now.

Anyway, if they've got the money, just let them be. Do like Eddie and enjoy the open bar.

[edit] Congrats...I think. h:

Yeap, 30k is around what most people pay. We've been paying towards it for about 1.5 years. The most we spent in one payment was around 9.600.00.

I really didnt want to spend this much money. I would rather it go to another house or maybe towards a masters degree ( doubt it ).
Especially the way our economy is right now. Having a nest egg is worth it but, from what my sisters, mom, & ex tell me. Thsi is something girls always dreamed about.

I should of left it that way in my future wifes mind.
