Congrats man. I got married on 10/13/07 and went on a cruise which stopped in Aruba . Make sure she doesn't get stolen.

Also, you will likely not remember a whole lot of the wedding as it goes by quick. Therefore all the money spent won't seem worth it. Hopefully everyone will have a good time though.

I think we paid 12k or 15k total for our wedding and I regretted every second of it.

The money spending, not the wedding. I'd've been happy with justice of the peace.

It's not hate at all, I have no jealousy to people who feel the need to blow that kind of money on a wedding at all. In fact I feel pity to a certain degree.

I don't know maybe I am just too much of a realist when it comes to these matters but I don't want to start my married life in the hole financially especially in these uncertain times. That money could go to many more beneficial things for my wife and I other than impressing our friends with a huge wedding.

I spent 15k on my wedding out of my own pocket and to be honest even though I had the money and wanted my wife to be happy I saw it as a waste of money better spent on other things.

one of my homegirls got married a month ago... they spent just shy of $45k. but they had saved up for it separately. i got trashed in that wedding too. open bar weddings ftw!!!

the one this past weekend cost about mid $30k. and of course, they had open bar too
