actually it isn't really a fine sand.....just compared to what is in the current tank it is LOL

Ohhhhh i gotcha.

Yea crushed coral is the madness. Some sharp pieces too that i've seen scratch up the bottom of the glass before.

after the nove, my original tank has just a small amount of nitrate & nitrites, but the new tank is WOAH high lol

need some of that ph buffer i recommended.....then wait it out for a day or 2 just to make sure you don't have a last-minute amonia spike
