in AZ (dunno if it's the same in all states)
a lot of the people getting them just ignore the ticket, eventually they send someone to physically hand you the ticket, you ignore the door too when they come.... after 3-4 months it goes away

AZ has had those for a while in fact because they are in a budget shortfall they are going to put up about 200 or so around the valley now.
with some mobile units that you can at least pickup with a radar dector.
The cameras in AZ I'm told can defeat the plates and sprays.
Its just like the radar and lazer companies always trying to stay ahead of the lazer radar dectors.

I'm a member of the National Motorists Association and I donate to SEMA's lobbyists as well. The NMA has been fighting these video traffic cameras for a while. Were it not for their efforts, we'd already have these cameras in downtown LA.

In short, she's trying to get the state definition of a speed trap changed so that the CHP can begin to use mobile speed cameras similar to the ones used by the Arizona Highway Patrol.
If SB 1325 passes, we will have no recourse and speed cameras can be deployed wherever the state sees fit.

this isnt new ive seen these around for a while. only thing to worrie about is if you break the traffic law obey the law and it shouldnt be a problem. also for all u cali hater we weren't the first to come out with this.

cuz they got ur plates so the fines will eventually double and triple for neglecting them?

no clue, all i know is, the people I knew just ignored them, got pulled over... later on but it never came up

aside from learning where they stationary cameras are, the only other way to defeat the mobil units is a radar dector. thank god the mobile units still use radar and they are easy to pick out. what sucks in AZ even more is if you have 2 moving violations within 2 years your license gets suspended automatically. no saftey net at all. on top of that if you have any sort of red light infraction you have to attend a traffic survival school and it doesn't erase the ticket.
