sorry, i like to nitpick
nitpicking points out shit i might not have noticed otherwise.

the counter space does look a bit lacking but i can put up with that.

also, it may look less because of where the dishwasher is. whether we get one or not is debatable but it would be built in so there would be counter space on top of it, obviously.

You could always push the kitchen into the dining room 2 more feet if you really wanted more counter space. 2' more on both sides is a HUGE plus.

However, I always hate refrigerators tucked against a wall...you can't open it all the way so you are cramped in.

pushing the counters out is a viable option

as far as the fridge, i put up with it for 2 years in our other house so that's not a problem.
