i'd hopefully be building a house in order to make it the way i wanted

(within reason of course)

 

this house i'll be in until i croak so i'm not worried about what's going to be in style years down the road. resale value is not a concern.

this plan follows what we both want as far as features and layout.

 

sure but someday your kids will have to deal with it

 

kitchen doesn't look like it has much counter space either

nitpicking points out shit i might not have noticed otherwise.

the counter space does look a bit lacking but i can put up with that.

also, it may look less because of where the dishwasher is. whether we get one or not is debatable but it would be built in so there would be counter space on top of it, obviously.

 

You could always push the kitchen into the dining room 2 more feet if you really wanted more counter space. 2' more on both sides is a HUGE plus.

However, I always hate refrigerators tucked against a wall...you can't open it all the way so you are cramped in.

 

is that a tunnel connecting the garage and porch or something?

 

i'd also recommend a tankless water heater

 

pushing the counters out is a viable option

as far as the fridge, i put up with it for 2 years in our other house so that's not a problem.

just a walkway but nothing is finalized, i as just fucking around with it in photoshop
