Id hate having those rooms so close to the garage
when the kids get older they are going to sneek into the garage and take the car out while your sleep

ditto.

I would take the edges of bedrooms 2/3, and the edges of the dining rm and utility closet and flip it the opposite way, so that beds 2/3 are on the side with the mbr, and the hall with the kitchen and utility rm open up into the garage.

Manual lifting of the garage, or
open it when you flush the toilet when you take your 1am piss
put car in neutral
release the ebrake
roll car out of garage
push card down the street before starting
proceed to go do dirt

fwiw, there will be no "tracking" as we're doing concrete floors throughout.

i like the original as well but the way the house will be oriented to surrounding houses and the road makes it unsuitable for the wife's tastes but it's the only floorplan both of us like.

i'm sure we'll figure something out.

Where is the TV/Sofa going to go in the great room as there is no living room?

You can't to the TV on the west wall (orienting the house as North up) since there is no wall for a sofa on the east wall and inverted. TV over the fireplace.....yeah not for me.

although a half bath maybe a possible addition, i don't think it's necessarily um...necessary.

tv will more than likely go to the left of the fireplace in the corner, that's how it was setup in my other house. sofa would be midroom facing hte fireplace and loveseat would be midroom on the right side facing the left wall, possibly rotate both a bit.
